Solid Microstructures and Functional Materials

To meet the requirements on advanced functional materials in energy, environment, catalysis, semiconductors, biotechnology and some other related areas, design and control of microstructures are very critical. This group carries out basic and applied research in solid microstructures and functional materials, which include characterization of solid microstructures; synthesis and properties of boron doped diamond; investigation of the electrochemical and biosensing properties of diamond and silicon films; preparation of novel electrode materials including carbon-based porous materials, super capacitors and lithium-ion batteries; exploration of the photo catalytic sensing and gas sensing properties, as well as the related product development of complex oxide materials and large specific surface oxide materials .
