9月14日下午16:00，材料科学与工程学院在千佛山校区主楼二楼会议室举办“求材”学术论坛。此次论坛由山东大学研究生院、材料液固结构演变与加工教育部重点实验室及材料科学与工程学院共同主办，材料学院研究生会承办。Dr Tao Wei作了题为“Some Capabilities at ANSTO for Materials Research”的报告。材料学院毕见强、范润华等老师及各年级研究生参加了此次论坛。

首先，Dr Tao We为大家介绍了澳大利亚核科学技术组织（ANSTO）。然后，他详细讲解了ANSTO的核科学和技术设施，主要包括：OPAL反应堆，澳大利亚中子散射中心，澳大利亚同位加速器，加速器科学中心。这些技术设施的应用可以达到以下目标：（1）开发新型材料，包括核结构材料和废物形式；（2）与SINAP和IAEA合作，探究中子照射和离子束照射对材料的辐射效应；（3）开发小样本技术和微机械测试，以评估反应堆材料的机械性能；（4）利用反应堆组件结构完整性的有限元分析建模。最后，Dr Tao We欢迎同学们申请使用ANSTO的设施，大家可以互相交流、共同进步。

Dr Tao Wei has been a research scientist at Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) since 2002. He received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from Shandong University of Technology. At ANSTO he has carried out the research activities ranging from accelerator mass spectrometry projects to surveillance programs for the structure integrity of ANSTO’s nuclear reactor. He has utilised various materials characterisation, mechanical testing techniques and finite element analysis to develop and evaluate the nuclear materials under the extreme environment. He now is the lead scientist in Australia to conduct an IAEA collabration research project, simulation and modelling neutron damage using ion beam irradiation for the future nuclear materials.
