6月22日下午3:30,材料科学与工程学院在千佛山校区西配楼321会议室举办“求材”学术论坛。此次论坛由山东大学研究生院、材料液固结构演变与加工教育部重点实验室及材料科学与工程学院共同主办,材料学院研究生会承办。Prof. Stewart Williams受邀作了题为“Large scale additive manufacture of engineering metallic structures”的报告。材料学院老师及各年级研究生参加了此次论坛。
Prof. Stewart Williams介绍到纳米级工程结构件的加工制造在许多领域,包括航空航天、国防、能源和建筑领域,都引起了业界的极大兴趣。 这些应用的唯一现实的过程是基于送丝技术的发展,并简要地回顾这些应用的状态。 电线+电弧添加剂制造(WAAM)显示了最高水平的商业利益,并将给出系统,功能和相关材料属性的示例。 将讨论WAAM允许工业应用(包括商业化方法)所需的发展。最后,Stewart Williams概述了未来的技术发展并作出展望。

Prof. Stewart Williams is currently the Director of the Welding Engineering and Laser Processing Centre (WELPC) and hold a Chair in Welding Science and Engineering at Cranfield University. His main research activities are focused on additive manufacture and laser processing. In additive manufacture the target is production of large scale high integrity near shape engineering components based on wire + arc welding (WAAM) with large cost and lead time savings. A rolling technology maturation programme, with more 20 industrial companies ranging from large OEMs to SMEs, is aimed at providing an industrial solution based on commercial systems.
