一、报告时间:2016年6月24日上午8:00 二、报告地点:主楼十层小松报告厅 三、报告题目:Polymer-derived ceramics and their applications for high-temperature sensors 四、报告人: Prof. Linan An (安立楠) 五、内容简介: Recently, polymer-derived ceramics (PDCs), a new class of materials synthesized by thermal decomposition of polymeric precursors, have received extensive attentions due to their unique processing, structure and properties. Unlike traditional polycrystalline ceramics prepared by powder-metallurgy process, PDCs possess a unique heterogeneous nano-domain structure, which consists of an amorphous matrix and dispersed carbon nano-clusters. Such a structure confers many unique properties to the materials, including excellent thermal stability, high-temperature semiconducting behavior, anomalous piezoresistivity and piezodielectricity. The direct chemical-to-ceramic process of PDCs enables multi-scaled material manipulations. The process also makes PDCs compatible with many microfabrication techniques. One of important applications of PDCs is to make micro-sensors that can be used for turbine engines, nuclear reactors, and coal-gasification units, where the harsh environments (e.g. high temperatures, high pressures, corrosive species, and sometime radiations) prevented the use of currently available sensing technology. Such sensors are a key to further improving the efficiency fety and reducing the pollution of the systems.
